    I don't know, they will probably stay the same in the original form of WC3, basically HD models in the middle of a bunch of polygons, which won't look good.

    hmm true, well at least it works and free still. Btw Do you reckon the HD models will severely reduce engine performance? Will maps like LTA or even LTF be possible?

    I'm not sure how warcraft 3 handles memory, in most modern games, graphics are only shown when on camera, if that is the case, then no matter how large the map is, there should be no performance issues. Otherwise, we will have problems.

    Sorry quick question again? Are there any other ways to reduce unit lag apart from reducing collision? I've realized unit lag occurs more on attack orders and far less on move hence why chasing is impossible in big maps. What do you reckon?

    No, I know of no other way to reduce lag, except perhaps making larger paths, most lag happens on choke points, where the paths are more complicated and the algorithm takes more time to resolve. It's an engine problem, which will likely stay when reforged is out.

    I see, guess gotta design the gameplay around it. Unit lag is not really an issue when fighting but rather chasing. Hence why I reckon Hit and run factions generally tend to be broken in macro maps. Also just another question does lag increase for example if you choose a group 12 to Attack someone instead of group of 2 or is the lag just depended on how many units you have in the field?

    Not sure about that, if you give an attack order, there shouldn't be any additional lag as there doesn't seem to be any formation mechanics in it, not so different from selecting each individually and then issuing the attack.

    oh i see, nobody uses formation anyways. I guess unit lag is something you can't solve and gotta design your way around. Thanks for the info btw.
