THE DARK HORDE Coming 01/01/2016 Although there are still many areas needing work, we've waiting long enough for the 12th and final player to make it into game, while this content has been beset by delay after delay, the south battle and Outland situation has deteriorated to the detriment of the game. So its time to throw something new into the mix! This thread outlines the current content with Dark Horde 1.40, the next patch will feature the usual bug fixes and new mini events for other factions in addition to the final player. More events will be coming later for this faction. HEROES Kargath Bladefist, Warchief of the Fel Horde Magtheridon, Annihilan Lord of Outland Rend Blackrock, Chieftian of Blackrock Clan Nefarian, Black Dragon Prince Dark Horde uses a terrifying arsenal of Fel infused Orcs, infernal siege machines and deadly Proto Dragons. It has links to many of the older orcish clans of the second war, and starts the game allied to the Dragonmaws. The orcish warlocks of the Dark Horde still worship demons, and many still revere the Burning Legions power, but the orcs of Blackrock recently have a new master to fear, for Nefarian holds sway over the blood thirsty armies of Rend Blackhand... And equaly subdued, the Fel Orcs of the shattered world of Dreanor follow their Pit Lord master; Magtheridon, who claims lordship of Outland from his citadel at the Black Temple. Magtheridon is a brutal and violent former servent of the Legion, but he is arcaic and arrogant of his power, perhaps it is time the Burning Legion replaced him with a new master of Outland? STARTING BASES HELLFIRE CITADEL BLACK TEMPLE BLACKROCK MOUNTAIN EVENTS The Dreanor Gateways can be conquered from Legion, every gateway you capture will grant bonus gold and spawn a small force of Demons. You can also train demonic units yourself from these gates. If Legion lose all gateways he will no longer be able Astral walk into Outland. Magtheridon can corrupt every Fountain of Health he comes accross, granting him an extra level and turning the pool into a pit of fel magic which heals your nearby units. The Horde city of Kargath can be conquered by Dark Horde and a new base established there. Nefarian can be requested to aid your battle, he can be summoned from Blackrock Mountain to assist anywhere in the Southern regions. He can only be summoned in the South and will only last for a minute. Your Dragonmaw Clan allies to the north can research the Black Dragonflight, Pledging their alliegance to Deathwing and Nefarian. You may offer the Smoulderthorn pact to the Trolls, if accepted they will join you, along with the Fire Gut Ogres in Dreadmaul Rock. Upon reaching level 10, Rend Blackhand may beseech Nefarian for his aid, he will then become a permanent hero for the Dark Horde. Proto Drakes can pick up Infernal Stars and throw them at enemy units. The fallen Death Knight, Teron Gorefiend may be reformed into being once again, replacing your Pit Lord Elites with Old Horde Death Knights. Teron can then re-open the Dark Portal, granting him a bonus level in the process. THE SHADOW COUNCIL Faction Path HEROES Grandmaster Vorpil, Shadow Councilor Teron Gorefiend, Deathknight This faction path is Dark Horde's last chance, late game option. The path comes at a serious cost and is best considered if the player has taken substantial loses. By chosing this path you will lose Magtheridon, Rend and Kargath, you will also lose all troops from your barracks as your army becomes more caster focus. The Shadow councils army focus lies in strong casters combined with high mobility* and covert capabilities. New unit types include the Eredar Deceivers and Fel Rays. *Mobility is not as strong as New Dalarans, Shadow Council does not have mass teleport. SHADOW LABYRINTHE You will gain a unique base within the cursed ruins of Auchindoun: The Shadow Labyrinthe. This is the Shadow Councils main base of operations and contains a number of abilities to defend itself, if threatened warlocks can unleesh the spirits of Auchindoun while the base permanently emits an invisibility shield. EVENTS Legion has the option of forming an alliance with you. Grandmaster Vorpil can summon the Burning Legion at level 15. Demi hero: Blackheart the inciter can re-animate the fallen Pit lord Magtheridon under the Control of the Burning Legion Your Eredar Deceivers can open demon portals for the Burning Legion. You can summon Murmur like normal from Auchindoun if he is still available. TACTICS: Mobility will be an issue for you in your early fights, your forces are split between Blackrock and Dreanor. The battle for outland should be your main priority, but you should also try and defend Blackrock if you can. Helping your allies in the south may also be difficult due to the logistical difficulties of moving your armies that far north and leaving your own base potencialy vulnerable. After 10 minutes game time you can consolidate your forces by using scrolls of mass teleport or opening the Dark Portal, linking Blackrock up with Outland. If Blackrock has survived, the ability to summon Nefarian will be a major tactical advantage in claiming the south. The best outcome you can aim for is conquering Outland from Legion, while defending Blackrock from the Horde. Once the former is achieved then consolidate your forces at Blackrock and push northwards. If all else fails, remember there is the Shadow Council...
