    Before we start:

    We made this thread to cover basics of some things in KTA, this is kinda real anouncement thread. I know that its not very detailed but pls keep in mind that KTA is still in development and some things needs to be finished. We will post more informations about faction system or some other important mechanics later. Feel free to coment and discuss everythink here because it will help us improve the map.






    ------- Team 1 -------

    The Orcish Horde

    Summary:
    Red is "main" faction of Horde team. It controlls majority of Orgrimmar and its main hero it Warchief of the Horde (starting with Thrall of course) Faction consists of Orc and Tauren units, therafore its main bases lies in Durotar and Mulgore.
    It can make some changes in all the Horde with Garroshes reformations and serves as the main "force" of the Horde early game.
    Player will have to make choices as the game continues to keep his Horde together since the Trolls will not very like Garroshes reformations and Ogres of Stonemaul may find Thralls shamanism weak and not worthy of their support.
    Hordes starting heroes are Thrall and Cairne but more apear as game progress like Trade prince Galliwix, Baine Bloodhoof and Garrosh Hellscream.

    Garroshes refomations (oposite to Thralls legacy)
    Thralls legacy (oposite to Garrosh reformations, it wont be available in release version)
    Baines rescue
    Goblins of Kezan



    The Horde forces

    Summary:
    Orange starts as shadow of Red in term of power. Its army is made of Orcs lead by Varok Saurfang but Rexxar, champion of the Horde may call upon the Ogres of Stonemaul clan to join his forces, making orange deadly, brutish force.
    Orange starts in Crossroads and small base in Aschenvale but may take Stonemaul Hold in Dustwallow early game, geting new Capital and Fortress of his own near the Theramore isle.
    Stonemaul ogres allied the Horde in time of war but should red chose to focus on Thralls shamanistic teachings instead of Garroshes war machinery, ogres may leave the Horde behind to find new, stronger ally.
    Oranges stating heroes are Rexxar and Varok Saurfang but the Ogre Warlock ZwarJahn may join his people after conquering Feralas.

    Da Darkspear tribe

    Summary:
    Yellow starts as main naval focused faction of the Horde. Alliance is marching to Durotar and Kul Tirass fleets are advancing in the sea. Yellow must be Hordes shield from naval invasion. Securing the sea is very important for Yellow since his main base is in Echo isle and other small bases lies on the coast as well.
    Yellow is also strong faction on the ground but some of its units are tied to Darkspear hold. However, the help of the Horde may ton come and Warchieff Garrosh Hellscream dislike may even ostracize the Trolls. That makes yellows presence in the Horde hard to keep.
    But other oportunities rises in land of Tanaris and with the Zandalari empire.
    Yellows starting hero is Voljin but there are more like Rokhan for example in future.

    ------- Team 2 -------

    Kingdom of Theramore

    Summary:
    Light blue is faction made as somethink between LTAs Silverhand and New Dalaran. It starts with only the city of Theramore and just on hero but strong army and some navy. Theramore is easily defendable fortress but its strengh lies in secured sea around.
    Later in game, Jaina can call for her High Elven allies in Dalaran and form Silver Covenant, geting Trueshot lodge on Broken isles and new elven units. Once the Covenant is formed, you can get New Dalaran with some additial forces and abilities.
    Light Blues starting hero is Jaina but Vereesa joins later with the Covenant

    Kingdom of Kul tiras

    Summary:
    Dark green is heavily naval base faction. Its capital is the isle of Kul Tiras and therafore its safe place early game, that gives you oportunity to strike the Horde hard. Your only other base is Northwatch Hold, that is sort of capital for your action in Kalimdor. Early game, Kul tiras is just a Proudmoores invasion force but as time goes on, it becomes more representative of the whole Alliance.
    Dark green is very army oriented faction, able to fight even outnumbered but working with Light Blue is crutial to make this faction and the whole team deadly.
    Dark Green starts with Admiral Daelin Proudmoore but new heroes will replace them in time like Varian Wrynn and some others that are on the list but we dont want to spoil that much.

    ------- Team 3 -------

    Druids

    Summary:
    Teal is "main" faction of Night Elven team. Its teal who decide if Highborne will join you but thats not the only decision teal can make. Druids are not lead by Malfurion but by Fandral Staghelm who went mad after the war of the shifting sands and that gives him option to betray Azeroth, forge Emerald Nightmare and pledge its service to the Old Gods or Burning Legion.
    Teals main bases lies in Silithus and Moonglade.
    Teal is caster oriented faction (similar to the Dalaran in LTA) but cant stand against more enemies at once. Teal starts with Fandral Stanghelm and Keeper Remulos as heros but some other like Xavius may join later.

    Sentinels

    Summary:
    Blue is mostly army focused faction but not strong enough to counter that many enemies. Its almost support faction, that rellies on its ally (allies). Blue starts with main capital in Astranar and some other bases all over Kalimdor but Aschenvale should be its main priority.
    Druids can not be trusted very much and Sentinels have to consider other options like forming pact with the Alliance because Sentinels can hardly stand against the Horde, after it takes down the Alliance.
    Blues starting heroes are Tyrande and Shandris but Malfurion Stormrage may return at some for example or the Green Dragon aspect Ysera may also join you.

    ------- Team 4 -------

    Highborne/Nightborne

    Summary:
    Nightborn/Highborne will work like a hybrid of Dalaran and Wretched in LTA. They have high mobility and able to teleport with the similar ease as Dalaran. (no mass teleports, diferent mechanic)
    Nightborne units have low mana renegeration so you will have to use your heroes or some other alternative source of mana regen.
    You will start with relatively safe city of Suramar and some Highborne refugees in Feralas. The other inhabitants of Broken isles will surely try to take down Suramar so prepare for fight there. Also do not forget your Highborne berthern. Prince Tholdrethim is reviable only while you control Dire Maul.
    You start with Grand Magistrex Elisande and Prince Tholdrethim as heroes.

    ------- Team 5 -------

    Naga

    Summary:
    Green is deadly faction ín the sea, with the vast majority of map being sorounded of sea, Naga can easily oversmart anyone by surprising attacks from the most unexpected way.
    Naga starts with units all over the map but their main concern is on the Broken isles, where the city of Suramar stands.
    Nightborne and Legion will be tough oponents but remember that you can ally one of them but be Nightborne nor the Legion will not want give up their Nightwell. Greens effort or possible comeback to Broken isles may also help Murloc Bloodcult lead by Zarjira the Sea witch.
    Green starts with Tidemistress Athisa and Naga Myrmidon Parjesh as heroes.

    ------- Team 6 -------

    The Old Gods

    Summary:

    Purple is one of 2 evil factions in KTA and it serves as ultimate villain villain early game, much more then Legion. Old Gods starts in AnhQuiraj with army of Quiraji. AhnQuiraj is safe position but as purple grow sin strengh more and more enemies will wanna fight it.
    Should the AnhQuiraj fall, purple may establish Twilights Hammer clan lead by ogre ChoGall geting new units and possibilities to destroy Azeroth like summoning Soggoth the Slitherer or Deathwing the Destroyer. Deathwing will be Endgame hero like Deathwing from LTA but is not necesery for victory since there will be more options like Cthun and others...
    Twin Emperors will be starting heroes but they are tied to each other so they are unreviable, one death will greatly weak the other one. More heroes apear in future like ChoGal, Soggoth...

    Accept Druids (Nightmare)
    Twilights hammer clan
    Summoning Soggoth the Slitherrer



    ------- Team 7 -------

    The Burning Legion

    Summary:

    Pink (its not odd looking i promise) is faction consisting of variety of units often tied to somethink. Satyr unitset is default one but Legion will start with the Vrykuls on the Broken isle and more will be available later. However it wont be full scale subpath. Vrykul has just 4 units to offer for example (melee, range, caster, air) and everythink is tied to the specific capturable building on the Broken isles.
    Pink is pain in ass, its satyr units are similar to the Legion Dreadlord gameply from LTA, mostly invisible and focused on stealthy aim actions and its other units support.
    However, all changes once you manage to Summon the Legion thrue the Tomb of Sargeras. Pink then becomes a brutish army with tons of trasnporting abilities to make hell on Azeroth. There wont be any godlike hero but a lot of army suport heroes with auras and think kind of stuff.
    Legion will be utterly defeated after kiling KilJaeden and Archimonde in the ruined world of Argus which become available once the invasion starts.

    ------- Other interesting things (not all :-) ) for everyone -------
    1) The Pillars of creation event
    Players can colect all 5 pillars to forge powerfull artifact.

    2) Tel Abim
    Players can take Isle of Tel Abim to ensure more income some unique way.

    3) Emerald Dreamway
    Event initialy for Druids for available for anyone who has certain needed things.

    4) Dranoshar Blockade
    Special mechanic to aid defenders of Orgrimmar, whoever is it.

    5) Uldaman
    Titan secrets lies is this ancient facility.

    Invisible dreadlords are a meme. Never in the Warcraft lore did a dreadlord have invisibility. Dreadlords are supposed to be tanky strenght heroes, not some kind of rogue style assassins, it's like you would make death knights casters.

    Also Horde seems to be becoming quite op for it having 3 factions at the same spot that will most likely not betray each other.

    Yep, (http://wow.gamepedia.com/Finnall_Goldensword) cool but not very known character. We decided to put her in because of lack of known Tirasian heroes.
    Yes, Hordes (red) gameplay will be about choices. Chose Garrosh and be more valuable for the Ogre, strenght oriented allies but make trolls not very happy by it. And there will be an oposite to it... favor the trolls by not chosing Garrosh and focusing more on Hordes shamanistic origin but be less worthy and weaker in eyes of ogres.

    Satyrs did, so therafore they are more fiting for LTAs Dreadlords legion gameplay more then Dreadlords.
    As i said before, Horde will have to make choices... its almost impossible to have 3 men Horde lategame.
    EDIT.: btw. Deathknights were "casters" during the second war. Teron Gorefiend was more a wizard or warlock then warrior.
