ROTV Patch Notes 4.01

    - After the first night, the Vampyr Lord can summon the powerful special unit "The Blood Abhorrent" at the graveyard east of Castle Drakenhof. The Abhorrent is a vary large and powerful super abomination, though extremely slow and clumbersome, it is excellent for sieging towns. The Necromancer summon event has been removed from here and will be added somewhere else at a later date.

    - The Giant Fel Bat special unit is now owned by The Vampyre Wife, the Vampire Lord's pet has been replaced with the Blood Abhoration.

    - Sorrowville and Eastwold villages have been redesigned with the HQ models from Zombie Rising.

    - Teal no longer needs to harvest number, the City Guard's income is passive now, they will gain income for every Village that still stands every 2 minutes. This reduces the amount of micro teal has to control, meaning they can focus on fighting and defending while also incentivising Evil to destroy the villages.

    - Guild Cannons can now be recruited at Bastions but they are expensive and limited. The Engineers summon Guild Cannon ability has been replaced with Pyromancy.

    - The Northern Ranger has been replaced with the Sister Archer from Zombie Rising, she has new abilities.

    BALANCE

    - The Vampyre Lord deals less damage from his attack at the early game but still becomes very powerful late game.

    - All heroes gain XP 10 less.

    - The Vampyr Lord starts off with a Lore Stone in his inventory, no need to buy one.

    - The Shadows summon event gives less xp.

    - Many Hunter hero abilitys cost less mana to cast at levels 1 to 2, this makes hunters less reliant on potions early game.

    - The Marsh Swamplord deals less dmg has is easier to kill, there is also now a passage leading from the Ruined Chruch to the Swamp.

    - The number of City Guard troops spawned through automatic defenses and patrols has been decreased and teals units are more expensive in general. However they have more Hp, so teal needs less. (This is to help reduce unit lag).

    - Teal gains +1000 gold at the start of the final night.

    - Monsterous Fel HP reduced from 15000 to 12000.

    - Vampyr Lords "Chill of Winter" global ability lasts less time but is more intense and deals more damage.

    - Bastions base damage increased from 35 to 45.

    - Vampire Acolytes HP increased from 800 to 1200 and Vampire Shades HP increased from 75 to 150. (This makes it easier for Vampyrs to summon armies before their Acoltytes get aimed).

    - Meat Wagons can no longer become magic immune by casting Anti-magic shell on them.

    - The Witches Starfall and Mana Rive abilities have had their damage reduced.

    - Ressurection range on The Blessed Horn of Northiem ability has been halved.

    - The lost prince can no longer be teleported by the Mage.

    GENERAL

    - When teals unit upgrades are increased they also increase upgrades for units hired at the Bastions by Hunters.

    - When Red (Vampire Lord) upgrades his troops it also upgrades troops for all evil vampire players.

    - Lighting and textures have been further improved to give the map more of a dark feel and improved graphics.

    - The City of Talabhiem has been renamed to Northiem as per Zombie Rising Lore, and has the Bear emblem of Northiem.

    - The Priestess's Divine Shield ability has been replaced with Light Manifest and her appearance matches that from Zombie Rising.

    - Naga Siren creeps now drop items.

    - The ability to summon reinforcements on the King has been removed but he gains a large additional force on the final night.

    Edit: Also, now I can actually see units against the environment. :eek: before it was pretty difficult to spot units like the item seller that I wanted.

    Thanks Sunstrider! I am trying to raise the graphics level of this map to the same as Zombie Rising.

    I forgot to mentioned this update also includes the Knockback spell @SvnmS designed for me :-)

    Just another quick fix/patch:

    - Hunters no longer get standing for every item they buy and no longer able to get 15 food (bug).
    - Bind undead on Sister archer duration reduction on enemy heroes decreased from 4 to 3 but dmg per second increased from 150 to 250.
    - The Necromancer Boss summon event is now available at the Old Church Ruins but only after the first night.
    - Vampyr Lord has a new high quality model.
    - All boss summon events now refresh after 15 minutes meaning they can be triggered more than once.
    - Cripple has increased cast range.
    - Cost of Vampyr troop upgrades increased from 150 to 300.
    - Vampyrs Necrophage ability W now requires level 3.
    - All hunters have had various increases to movement speed.
    - Bastions HP increased from 15000 to 20000 and attack increased slightly.
    - Vampire auto-balancer xp bonuses have been reduced.
    - Fixed bug where Sister Archer/Northern Ranger was under greys control if she was revived.
    - Priestess and the Vampyr Lord dispaly some text diaglogue if they come close enough to eachother.

    Well I am not quite sure about allowing bosses to be summoned more then once. Does it not reduce the overall excitement of the encounter if it can be repeated? Like grinding rep in WoW dungeons :p

    Marsh if you want to prevent people from aiming bastions so easily, add a invisible devotion aura to every teal unit with short range. This aura will work only on structures (make sure it doesn't work on trebuchet) and will increase the armor of building by 0.25 or 0.5 (stacking, meaning 10 units nearby bastion -> +5 armor for bastion).

    To make it stacking, simply remove the buff from buff section (for the devotion aura spell), this way the aura will be stacking and will have a display effect of regular devotion aura buff. (You have to change the regular devotion aura buff to something more lore-friendly)

    With this implemented there's no need to excesivelly increase bastion health, and will actually encourage vampire players to kill defenders before taking down the bastion

    The aim of this patch is to make the Vampyrs armies slightly more powerful and also make the Hunters alittle bit scared of the Vampyrs due to their ability to stun for longer now. The Vampyr Wife has already recieved a nice buff and should be more dangerous to the Hunters now!

    WARNING: There is someone hacking ROTV and Zombie Rising and releasing cheat versions of both maps, he's been increasing the version number by 1 and also putting a letter at the end of them.

    - Teal no longer gains 200 gold for buying standing (bug fix).
    - Vampyr Lords Ultimate now stuns enemy heroes for 3 seconds.
    - None Melee type hunters have had their strength per level decreased.
    - Teals gold income from villages has been reduced slightly.
    - Some creep xp drop levels have been adjusted.
    - Damage from Vampire Wifes Impaled has been increased and stun time on enemy heroes increased from 1 to 2 seconds.
    - Damage from Vampire Wifes Zombie hounds has been increased slightly.
    - Wifes Bat Forms requires less mana and speed of bats has been increased.
    - The Blood Abhorrent (pet of the Vampyr Lord) has been buffed in all areas.
    - Vampyr Wifes Limit on Abominations has been increased from 3 to 5.
    - Every night the Limit on powerful units like Abominations (Monstrosities) and Gargoyles (Varghiests) increases.
    - Supply cost of Meat Wagons (Underworld Contraptions has been decreased from 3 to 4)
    - Duration of mages mana shield has been decreased
    - Power of Werewolfs healing wave has been increased.
    - The Guild Cannon and the Engineer units are now only available after the first night.
    - Zombie Hounds now have a new model.


    I get what your saying but as it stood the game was a huge rush to see who could get the Boss XP and drops before the other team, now they are not limited it means the Vampyr cant fpcus on taking out towns or hunters without losing out on these special drops.

    Oh well, the region of Northiem has been living in the shadow of the Vampyr brothers for a hundred years, it has gone into a slow decline. Although the Vampyrs where banished during this time, their dark influence over the realm of Northiem has not diminished. The Kingdom has become weaker and weaker, and it's towns and cities have started to decay much like the forests and wildlife surrounding it.


    When you factor in the massive damage output of the Vampyr and his armies it's not a an exessive increase, I had a game last night where an experienced Vampyr and his wife was able to take out 2 villages in the first night. Even with this buff they still go down quite fast, and adding mechanics like the one you suggested actually make it harder for new Vampyr players. If they arnt aware of this mechanic then they could get frustrated trying to aim down bastions and not get anywhere, Vamps already ahve a high learning curve.

    I was asking about the castle thingy by the King. I'd like to see it repaired as a throne room because practically it looks vulnerable from behind.
