    The Elder Scrolls: Interregnum
A Warcraft III Custom Map made by Draupne
    INTRODUCTION
The Elder Scrolls: Interregnum is an upcoming 12-player RTS custom map made by me, based upon the continent of Tamriel on the fictional planet of Nirn, famously featured in the widely popular The Elder Scrolls RPG games. In particular, the map takes emphasis on the events of The Elder Scrolls: Online MMORPG. That being said, the final map will feature a blend of elements from all of the recent Elder Scrolls titles, from TES III: Morrowind (2002), and all the way up to TES: Online (2014).
    Map of Tamriel

    LORE
TES:I takes place in the Second Era, during the Interregnum, a dark age in Tamrielic history, with no legitimate Emperor ruling from the Ruby Throne in the Imperial City.
Three major factions, the Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant and Ebonheart Pact are waging war for the Imperial province of Cyrodiil, each with the goal to conquer the Imperial City and crown a new Emperor of their choice. Meanwhile, Molag Bal, the Daedric Prince of Domination, is actively attempting to merge Nirn together with Coldharbour, his personal realm in Oblivion.

    GAMEPLAY FEATURES
    SETUP
TES:I is a massive map that features four 3-player teams battling for control of Tamriel's cities, strongholds, resources and the means to acquire them. Each player controls approximately one province, and represents one race. The Daedric team is an exception to this rule, as the Molag Bal and Worm Cult players have their forces scattered all over the continent. The role of each country and race varies widely, based upon the political, demographical and economical situations found in each country in Elder Scrolls lore.
    THE ART OF WAR
The map emphasizes the deadliness of war for the soldiers involved. Most units in the game do not have natural hit point regeneration, which means that taking your army to a battle will cost your troops heavily unless well prepared. It is key to make use of your surroundings and put them to your advantage; farms will heal you, magical ruins may emit rays of magicka, towns sell food and magicka supplies and certain terrain is easier to traverse than others.
    RACIAL TRAITS
Almost every single unit in the game is connected to a race (with a few exceptions), and each race has its own Racial Trait. These Traits are passive or active effects that boosts units in combat or otherwise. Certain races may be more resilient, while others may be more deadly or cunning. Use your units' race to your advantage!
    FUNDING THE WAR EFFORT
In order to gain resources needed to muster troops, you must take on Tamriel's natural resources. The abilities of Workers in the map are much fewer than in other traditional Grand Strategy maps, so you may not deploy a single worker and set up a large lumber operation from the get go here. Instead, you must locate lumber mills and capture them in order to harvest lumber efficiently. Same goes for gold, although gold may be acquired in many more ways than just mining. Treasure hunting, harvesting plants, selling wood and bounty hunting are all viable side gigs to fuel your war machine.
    VICTORY CONDITION

To claim victory for your team, you must control a majority of the Victory Points on the map. Victory Points are passively yielded through ownership of important structures, most often associated with strategic positions such as cities, forts, villages, ruins and other points of interest. Some areas are worth more Victory Points than others: controlling the Imperial City, or the Breton capital of Wayrest, is much more lucrative than controlling a small village like Cropsford.
The 'Daedric' team has an alternate victory condition; summoning Molag Bal to Tamriel. If they manage this, Victory is instantly declared for their team, and the game ends.
    CUSTOM SOUNDTRACK
The map features a varied collection of music tracks from most of the Elder Scrolls games.

    FACTIONS

    Daggerfall Covenant

[IMG] Bretons of High Rock is a race of men with part elven and part human ancestry. They are famous for being the most naturally skilled spellcasters among mankind, and they are known to be proficient merchants and bankers. While Bretons are descendants of elves and men alike, the modern Bretons have few distinct elven features left. Efficiency and function is valued over form and aesthetics in Breton lifestyle.
[IMG] Redguards of Hammerfell hail from the lost continent of Yokuda, and their Yokudan ancestry has heavily influenced the widely diverse population of Hammerfell ever since their arrival. This dark-skinned folk is the only race of men on Tamriel that has seemingly no connection to the old human continent of Atmora. The Redguards are the most naturally talented warriors on Tamriel, with a cultural affinity to advanced swordplay. They have mastered life in Hammerfell, a land of deserts and mountains.
[IMG] Orsimer of Wrothgar and the Dragontail Mountains is a hardy folk known for facing countless hardships throughout history, and their fearsome and rugged appearance shows this well. While the Orsimer (or Orcs) have Elven blood, they are far from being treated as such, and are usually considered to be beastfolk along with Argonians and Khajiit. The only sophisticated race on Tamriel to not declare its own Province, most of them make their home in the mountaineous regions of High Rock, Hammerfell and Skyrim.

    Aldmeri Dominion

[IMG] Altmer of Summerset Isles, or High Elves, is the primary race of the Dominion. A race of tall, golden skinned elves, they usually consider themselves to be the most advanced civilization, and the superior race in Tamriel. Their politics often involve the idea of elven supremacy. Altmer lives twice as long as most men, with the oldest of them reaching almost 300 years. Few races have affected Tamrielic culture, science, religion and language as much as the Altmer, yet the other races often feel resentful about them. No race can match the Altmer in magical proficiency.
[IMG] Bosmer of Valenwood is a race of shorter, dark and creamy skinned elves known to be the cultural opposite of the Altmer. A people with fondness of living in harmony with nature, they reject excessive materialism and prefer a simple lifestyle. Their lifespan is almost identical to that of the Altmer. While being considered the least influential of elvenkind, they are prone to procreation and are therefore the most populous race of elves. They are quick and nimble, and there are no better archers in all of Tamriel.
[IMG] Khajiit of Elsweyr is a cat-like folk known for their superior agility. They are led by the Mane, a spiritual leader that rules over Elsweyr in sight of the two moons. They are notorious for the production of moon sugar, a key ingredient in the most widespread drug on Tamriel; skooma. This, along with their foreign appearance and behavior, makes them unwelcome in many areas of Tamriel outside of Elsweyr. In the aftermath of the Knahaten flu pandemic, the Khajiit population in Elsweyr was reduced to a fraction of what it was before. The survivors are the strongmen of the Dominion.

    Ebonheart Pact

[IMG] Dunmer of Morrowind is a ash-colored race of elves known for their tribalism, exotic culture and architecture. Their race and being is traditionally associated with ill omens, yet this is embraced with enthusiasm by most Dunmer themselves. They are suspicious of 'outlanders', a term used towards Dunmer and other races alike that were not born in Morrowind. Their society is based upon a large group of influential Houses, and the impending dangers of their volcanic homeland.
[IMG] Nords of Skyrim is a proud, martial people known for being fair in skin and hair, and resistant to frost. Honor, truth and prowess in battle are among the key principles in Nord society. They are renowned warriors, and the provinces neighbouring Skyrim often consider their politics to be hawkish and militant. Nords answer to a High King elected through a Moot, with Jarls underneath him to govern the various Holds.
[IMG] Argonians of Black Marsh is a race of lizardlike beastfolk, with a high degree of variance. Amphibious and perfectly adapted to the swamplands of Black Marsh, they are historically known to be experts at guerilla warfare after centuries of defending their borders from invading armies. They have an unbreakable bond with the Hist, a strange breed of sentient trees that interconnects Argonians unconciously (sometimes conciously as well). They are naturally resistant to diseases, and are shunned by the rest of Tamriel for their primitive civilization.

    Molag Bal and the Empire

[IMG] Coldharbour is the Realm of Oblivion belonging to Molag Bal, the Daedric Prince whose sphere is domination and enslavement. Known by many titles, like the Father of Vampires, King of Rape, and the Lord of Brutality, his cruel and evil tendencies is mostly feared by the denizens of Nirn. After the Necromancer Mannimarco initiated the Soulburst, Molag Bal has ordered his Worm Cultists to summon Dark Anchors from which he rains his Daedric troops down upon Tamriel. Linking the two worlds would mean the enslavement of all mortals.
[IMG] The Empire of Cyrodiil has been in a rough shape for a long time, and is during the Interregnum only a husk of its former self. It's currently being run by the puppet Empress Clivia Tharn, backed by the prestigious Tharn dynasty. Behind them, are Worm Cultists and Daedric infiltrators. The Imperial City is at the current time a base of operations for Molag Bal to wreak havoc upon Tamriel, and the corrupted Empire is backing him.
[IMG] The Worm Cult is Mannimarco's servants and allies, located all across the continent. They live to serve Molag Bal, and they are working overtime to install Dark Anchors for him to use as gateways between Nirn and Oblivion. The most recent addition to their ranks is the Reachmen, an offspring of savage Bretons found around the frontiers of High Rock, Hammerfell, Cyrodiil and Skyrim.

Chorrol, a city in Colovia, Cyrodiil
    [IMG]
Hackdirt, a lumber village in Colovia, Cyrodiil
    [IMG]
Bravil, a Dominion controlled city in Nibenay, Cyrodiil
    [IMG]
Whiterun, capital of Whiterun Hold in Skyrim (not finished)
Dragonstar, a neutral mining town in Craglorn, Hammerfell that can be purchased for its garrison and gold mine.

Will there be events concerning the break away factions of certains? Like the High Elves having the nationalistic elves that ally themselves with Molag Bal.
