It is officially starting and no longer just an interest check :-)

This is where the discussion and character signup will take place. If some one would be interested in creating or maintaining a map, this would be very useful, as I am no good with that sort of thing.

The basic info is posted in the interest check which can be found here: http://brigandshaven.net/threads/the-world-of-casus-interest-check.3781/

Faction character sheet (last updated 9/30/16)
Name: That by which your faction is known, or uses to identify itself.
Species: if normal human, no additional details required, otherwise describe.
Government: The way the faction is lead, for native human kingdoms this will likely be via a monarch.
Technology level: At most medieval for human factions originating on-planet. Keep in mind rare elements and so on are not present in this world, so high tech factions will find themselves unable to maintain or produce more of their technology.
Territory: Where on the planet (or off the planet, if you can justify it) your faction claims/owns/influences territory.
History: The past of the faction. If it originated outside Casus, this includes the means it used to get there - ask crawlers if you need help with this.
Magic: None, unless your faction somehow acquired it from some source outside Casus. Keep in mind magic levels are low and powerful mages will find difficulty getting mana to cast spells.
World view: for most factions, this will be their religion. For a few, it may be pragmatism or something else. Essentially, it is their purpose (if they believe they have one) or why they bother doing anything.
Other: For other special information that does not fit into the above categories.

Individual character sheet (last updated 9/30/16)
    Name:
    Species:
    Equipment:
    History:
    Magic:
World view: probably will be the same as the faction.

I don't think that you can say that it's the oldest or second strongest, since it limits other people

Should not have any non-human aspect as there are no non-human races native to Casus in the past or present, and should also not have magic as there is no explained source for it. Note that outside factions/other things arrive just after the RP begins, they have not arrived yet.

I also agree with manetho in that an exact ranking system is probably not good to use. May be better to say "one of the oldest and strongest" rather than "the oldest and 2nd strongest."

Other than this, however, I see no issues.

Hey guys, I'm kinda new to these forums and I'm joining because one of my steam friends from WC3 recommended it.

    Name: Kingdom of Ryendar
    Species: Human
    Government: Absolute Monarchy
Technology level: Medieval with some Renaissance-esque ideals
Territory: Since I have no clue what the map looks like, I'll be vague, Ryendar controls a great deal of farmland with a few mountains and hills in between, they have limited contact with the ocean and a great portion of their territory acts as their breadbasket.

History: Ryendar has a long and recorded history, dating back hundreds of years to numerous mountain clans, settling down in the Kyron Plains after centuries of infighting, eventually settling into a single massive tribal village, Ryendaer in their tongue, the Star-Blessed City. As the numerous clans developed and assimilated others a single, driving culture began to form, calling themselves Ryendarians, their language changing the name of their city to Ryendar. As they continued to develop into the early middle ages their leader, High Chief Jacov Cennyr began his crusade to conquer the surrounding areas, developing numerous strategies and refining the military. As he came into contact with numerous petty kingdoms, High Chief Cennyr was faced with a dilemma. Several of his leaders were getting uppity, beginning to lay demands at his feet as they threatened to turn their arms and lands against him. To combat this, Cennyr began to gain the loyalty of each commanders subordinates and the few commanders undying loyal to him and his conquests and when his deck was stacked in his favor, he delivered an ultimatum to his rebellious leaders and generals: cease your disorder and give up either your lands or your armies, or face annihilation. After a swift retaliation to the small rebellion that ensued Cennyr had successfully established full martial order, and established the Ryendarian tradition of separation of land and armies.

After Cennyr and his descendants had claimed the majority of Ryendarian territory the Kingdom entered a quiet age, an age of reform and pragmatic expansion. The Kingdom entered the middle ages in stride and the King of Ryendar, Warden of the Eternal Stars(see religion), and Guardian of the People of Ryendar, was crowned. With this came the Ryendarian Bureaucracy, an expansion of the centuries-old Cennyr system, firmly placing land in the hands of Royally appointed Provincial Administrators and Magistrates, and land in the hands of the marshals and officers of the realm. Noble families began to be measured in wealth and connections as opposed to land and men, allowing for politics to remain streamlined while avoiding absolute chaos during war.

Magic: None, the only slightly magical part of Ryendarian society consists of the Alchemists, glorified medicine men who use herbal remedies and concoctions to heal injuries, any attempts to connect them to magic consist in folklore alone.
Military: Ryendar prides itself on having a military that is prepared to answer a multiple front war, each Marshal oversees his own section of the border with a portion of the large, professional army, keeping an almost eternal vigil over the borders. Although Ryendar certainly doesn't have the strongest army, or even the best trained army, they do have enough of a deterrent to ward off any threat. With a low supply of natural metal, and a fear of importing it in the event of war, the Ryendarian army uses leather and cloth for most of their soldiers. Although they are well-disciplined, skilled in combat, and numerous, they simply lack quality armor. Nevertheless, Ryendar employs a combined arms approach with a combination of archers, cavalry, and infantry to successfully defeat larger and better equiped armies with more advanced strategies.

Other: As mentioned, Ryendar differs from the feudal system in many ways, allowing for the King to have absolute power, ensuring that most corruption serves to advance one person or faction over another in the King's eyes.
Religion: Ryendarians believe that once upon a time, ages ago, these mystical lights called stars occupied the sky. Believing in the Warden Persei as a sort of deity, Ryendarians focus on religion as an extension of oneself, an inward journey to self-improvement. They make extremely few efforts to evangelize their faith to others and Ryendar is home to several other minor religions and pantheons, allowing it so long as they don't preach anything against the state. As for their relation with the One Faith under Balthazar, Ryendarians have an innate sense of national pride, fostered by their successful military and successful peacekeeping methods, and they believe religion should serve to better oneself emotionally and rationally, to make themselves better people in a nutshell. Although there are some who have heeded Balthazar's words, they are political outcasts on the fringes of society, mostly those of foreign descent. Extremely tolerant, Ryendar has no quarrels with the One Faith so long as they do not subvert the power of the state and so long as they do not terrorize the populace.

Titles: A list of unique titles used in Ryendar for convenience to other roleplayers, if applicable I will include the one individual who currently holds the title if it is known

Marchwarden- An honorary title given to a Marshal, Field Marshal, or high ranking general in charge of a given defensive position: i.e. Field Marshal John Corryn, Marchwarden of Dyreholme.

Provincial Administrator- The highest ranking administrator in Ryendar, given control of an entire province and management of its provincial capital and oversight of the countless other administrators and magistrates in the province.

Post Commander- A title in between Regimental commander and Marshal given to an officer who commands one or more regiments and is the highest ranking officer at his station. In terms of orders they are equal to Strategos'.

Strategos- Generals under Ryendar who serve directly under marshals, serving as middlemen between them and the regimental commanders. They often serve as right hand men and as lieutenants to Marshals in terms of tactics and strategy.

Adjutant- Strategos' or Generals appointed as the direct assistant to the marshal, often an honorary title for the director of the marshal's staff.

Warden- A title given to those who distinguish themselves in service to Ryendar, similar to modern day knighthood in the UK, can be appointed by the King or a Field Marshal.

    @Omey
Seems mostly alright, but there are some issues that must be resolved before I can accept it. The map has not yet arrived sadly :(.

Is there some reason why Balthazar and/or his lackeys have failed to convert your country in the long time he has had to do so? Is your territory deemed particularly unimportant or difficult to travel to? If Balthazar has traveled to your country and tried to convert it, why did he fail? And if he did fail, why did none of the other kings do something about it - attacking a pagan is a great excuse to get more land without much risk from rivals. Edit: resolved on steam, people are not interested in listening, sufficient military to deter enemies.

How did your people acquire magic? Anything that comes outside the universe arrives (shortly) after the RP begins, meaning your people should not have it yet. Edit: is folklore and mundane herbalism, resolved issue on steam, never mind this problem.

    Edit: approved.

    @Noth

We have spoken on steam, and these anvils and subsequent learning of runes after them will happen shortly after the RP begins and the people do not know it yet.

    Approved.

Robots should be in race section, but we already discussed this faction on steam. Approved.
